Martha Tero Lewis daughter of Jefferson Franklin Lewis and Margarette Jane Overton. She was born in Jackson County, Missouri in 1872 . The family left North Carolina about 1869 or 1870 to go to California. They were censused in Jackson County Missouri in 1870. Tero where Frances Matilda Lewis and Tero were born. After staying in Missouri a few years they decided to come to Texas as there was a family member they didn't want to take across the desert.
