Marthanne Bruner

Birth: Jan. 19, 1931 Death: Nov. 23, 2011

Marthanne Stocks Bruner, 80, of Lee County, GA, who died November 23, 2011 will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday at Byne Memorial Baptist Church. Dr. Matthew Nance and Rev. Charlie Brown will offficiate. Colby Bruner Moore, Eric Bruner, Jack Daniel Garrett, Ry McRee, Scott Bruner and Jonathan Dyal will serve as active pallbearers. Interment will follow in Thundering Springs Cemetery.

Mrs. Bruner was born to the late Edward and Greta Knight Stocks and was native and lifelong resident of Lee County, GA. She was a 1947 graduate of Albany High School and early in her career, she was employed as a dental hygienist for Dr. Arnold and Dr. Greene. Mrs. Bruner was also employed with Dr. Charlie Holman for twenty five years as a medical assistant and was employed with Albany Internal Medicine when she retired.

She was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church and the Open Door Sunday School Class. Mrs. Bruner was very active at Byne volunteering in the Nursery, with the Young Married Couples and sang in the Choir.

Survivors include her husband, A.M. (Tony) Bruner of Lee County, GA, a son and his wife, Andy and Kim Bruner of Marietta, GA, two daughters, Amanda McRee of Albany, GA and Kelly Moore of Lee County, GA, seven grandchildren, Ry McRee and his wife, Candy, of Smithville, GA, Greta Austin and her husband, Bruce, of Lee County, GA, Mandy Anderson and her husband, Jon, of Savannah, GA Jessica Bruner of Woodstock, GA, Eric Bruner of Marietta, GA, Colby Bruner Moore and Jetta Rose Moore, both of Lee County, GA, and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday at Mathews Funeral Home.
