Marthie Grobler (1952 - 2011)
Brief overview:
Marthie (59), was killed using a pair of scissors, and investigators were trying to determine whether she was raped. Petrus Jordaan (43) was accused of killing Marthie and cutting the corners of her mouth with the scissors, leaving her body resembling the Batman character.
Farm owner, Hannes Mostert, found her body on the floor of her bedroom in her rental cottage on Hoogekraal farm in Outeniqualand, George, on Monday, June 13th 2011. He was the last person to see her alive on June 10th.
A source claims her neighbour, Jordaan, went to Marthie’s home on Saturday and forced her to phone his estranged girlfriend who lives next door.
The perpetrators ex-lover, who chose to remain anonymous, confirmed that Jordaan and a nervous-sounding Marthie spoke to her on the phone. She told Jordaan she wants nothing to do with him and ended the call. It is believed that Jordaan then attacked Marthie, using a pair of scissors.

Marthie worked for the last seven years at Tiger Consumer Brands in the George industrial area and was a member of a ride-along club. When she failed to show on Monday club members contacted Mr Mostert to investigate. He said the fifty-nine-year-old Mrs Grobler was a ‘very private person’. Mrs Grobler had no children and her only sister, Mrs Judie Soekoe, died five years earlier. Her nephew Johan Soekoe said the funeral will be planned to take place from the Dutch Reformed Church Blanco.
