Dear Mr. Mohrs, we searched for the date of birth and the parents of Martin Möhrs in the parish registers of Wehren (district of Fitzlar) with the accompanying village Werkel. Unfortunately the pages containing the registrations from c. 1720 to 1740 are corroded from the aggressive ink the minister had used. So we are not able to answer your inquiry. Dear Mr. Mohrs, "Möhrs" was not a very widespread surname in Werkel in the seventeenth and eighteenth century. A genealogist transcribed the oldest parish register of Wehren, Dorla and Werkel containing the items of 1650 to 1696. In the last part we found only one person named Möhrs: Clobes (means Claus or Nicholas) Möhrs, baptized january 16 - 1679, son of Johannis Möhrs from Werkel. Clobes Möhrs could be the grandfather of Martin Möhrs, but we are not able to prove this assumption. Probably there is no gravestone left from one of this persons, but you can search for pictures of this an other accessories of churches on the homepage of Foto Marburg: www.bildindex.de. Sincerely
