According to Ira's writings, "Revolutionary Soldiers":

"According to fairly well established records gathered by your uncle Martin and more complete records established by Rev. Charles Virden of Springfield Ill, and his son an Episcopal Bishop of Houston or Galveston Texas, who finished the work which was halted his father's death, those four Virden brothers came through the war, after which, some settled in Virginia and the others came to Kentucky."
