Marvella E. Spooner

Funeral services for Marvella E. Spooner, age 74, of Watertown, South Dakota, will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday June 3, 2006, in the Crawford Funeral Chapel, Watertown, South Dakota. Rev. Keith Spooner, Marvella's brother-in-law of Oregon, will officiate. Marvella passed away on May 31, 2006, in the hospital in Clear Lake, South Dakota. Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Watertown, South Dakota. Honorary pallbearers will be Dave Webb and Kevin Morse. Active pallbearers will be Ted Meyer, Roger Morse, Ryan Webb, Dave Struck, Michelle Morse and Dave Mors. Music will be provided by Rev. Keith Spooner. Marvella was born on September 8, 1931 in Roberts County, South Dakota, to Anna Kruse. She attended school and was a graduate of Wilmot High School. Marvella later moved to Watertown and worked at the Lincoln Hotel in the coffee shop. Marvella married Lee Roy Spooner on December 25, 1950, at Colorado Springs, Colorado. Following their marriage, Marvella worked at A & M Café, Leo's Good Food, the Regal Café and the Guest House. She later worked at Med-Tex and then did private child care until retiring. She enjoyed collecting cups and ballpoint pens, watching soap operas, and being a Girl Scout and Brownie Leader. Marvella is survived by her husband, Lee Roy, of Watertown, South Dakota; two daughters: Cheryl and her husband, Roger Morse, of Norfolk, Nebraska, and Sandra and her husband, David Webb, of Watertown, South Dakota; one sister, Mavis, and her husband, Ronald Knapp, of Rawlins, Wyoming; three grandchildren: Ryan Webb and his fiancé, Kathy Richardson, of Watertown, South Dakota; Michelle Morse, of Omaha, Nebraska; and Kevin Morse, currently serving in Iraq.

She was preceded in death by one son, Larry, and her mother, Anna Vriem.
