Death occurred on the Steamboat Mary coming down the Missouri River.

Mary and her two little girls, Ann & Mary, died of cholera and were buried in the river. The bedding and most of the clothes were thrown in the river for these items were not allowed to remain on the ship.

A son, Adam, had died in Scotland.
