Mary Anna "Annie" McKee

The birth date I had here was 2/14/1871, think Mom said that or its in later papers. But birth record from UK is pretty clear and says 1/5/1871, child Ann. Parents precise, must be same.

Had a saying, "Eat your Fruit it will put Sunshine in your eyes", per Betty McCartney Justin, who said that is what her Grandmother used to say to them.

Once at National Park the clouds to the South over the Delaware had beams of sunshine coming down through gaps in the clouds, and Mom said that her Grandmother Annie would call those "Ladders to Heaven". Also very cool.

Annie missed her sister who had stayed behind with a sick young brother in England when the family came over. The family hired a detective to look for them. He said she had come to Boston but vanished there. She prayed every day to the saint (lost people, lost causes?) for them. She was very religious.

She also was supersticious, or liked clean tables. She told the kids to not put shoes, even new ones, on a table as it was bad luck.

She did not drink was a tea totaller (like Mom) but when older the doctor told her to have a drink each day and her daughters kept coming over to give her a drink and she would be tipsy. Think it was wine.

Red Hair, Blue Eyes, Sparkly eyes happy. Mom Loved her.

Also said she danced the jig.
