First marriage was to an RAF pilot (she always wore an RAF decorative brooch), but there is no record available of his name, or whether he was killed in action. She subsequently married Samuel Lester "Sonny" Hewett (possibly in India). Her final marriage to Len Cook was a disaster. Mary possessed a great and idiosyncratic sense of humour; she had been a fashion model and a silent cinema pianist. I have not been able to determine when and why she went to India.
