Mary Ripley was married April 5, 1789 to Silvanus Bennet just long enough to carry a child to term and give birth. Tragically, their child was stillborn and Mary died the following day, 26 January, 1790, aged 27 years, 1 month, 20 days. 'Her infant lies buried by her side.'"
