Mary Cooley

NEWTOWN, Pa. - Mary Cooley , formerly of Holland Township, died Oct. 14, 2005 in Newtown, Pa. She was 89.

Born in Trenton, she taught English at Packer Collegiate Institute in New York City, later living in the Holland Township home of her parents, Harvey and Mabel Hurley Cooley . She moved to Pennswood Village retirement home, Newtown, in 1990.

She enjoyed trips to England and to local cultural events. She belonged to the English Speaking Union, was an enthusiastic supporter of Princeton University, and donated to the American Friends Service Committee.

Surviving are Peggy Hsiao of Montclair, John Hay Cooley of Dundee, N.Y. and Austin Craig Cooley of Rush, N.Y. A private graveside service will be held later at Milford Union Cemetery.
