William Anderson was the son of Joseph Dempsey and Alena Vance, Logan County. Joseph was the son of John William Dempsey and Rachel Solomon, Logan County and Botetourt County VA. John William was the son of William Dempsey and (?), Botetourt County, VA. There is some confusion over who William was married to: Jane Dubartis, (?) Gulliver, or (?) Meadows.
