Revolutionary War Pension of widow of Thompson Epperson On September 27, 1843, in Franklin County Georgia Mary Epperson, 88, filed for a widow's pension stating that she is the widow of Thompson Epperson a revolutionary pensioner; that he died June 9, 1836 in Franklin County Georgia; that she married him as near as recollected on September 22, 1782 in Amherst County Virginia; that they resided in Albemarle County but crossed the line into Amherst and went to the parson’s house where they were married; they returned to Albemarle County where they lived two weeks then removed to North Carolina, Wilkes County where they resided eight years and moved to Georgia, Franklin County; that she has no record of her marriage and knows of no person living who can prove the same except Johnson Israel, of Buncombe County North Carolina, if he is still alive. She signed her application with her mark.[1]
