A very popular wedding took place the other day at Urenui, Taranaki, New Zealand -38.99778, 174.39028, when Miss M. Lucilla Halcombe (second daughter of A. W. F. Halcombe, Esq., of Fern Grove) was married to Mr James Gordon Glassford, of [Clifton Downs, location?] Mimi, Taranaki, New Zealand -38.97278, 174.45167. The marriage ceremony was performed by the Venerable Archdeacon Govett, assisted by the Rev F. T. Baker, from Waitara, in the presence of numerous friends. Mr Napier Glassford acted as best man. The bride was given away by her father, and Miss Queenie Halcombe, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid.

After the ceremony the happy couple, as they were going to their carriage were saluted with the usual quantity of rice. They were driven to the residence of the bride's father at Fern Grove, 158 Kaipikari Road Upper, Urenui 4375, New Zealand -39.0071118, 174.3933867, where all partook of a sumptuous wedding breakfast. In the afternoon the happy pair were driven to the bride's future home at Clifton Downs.
