About Mary Green
1. Mary JUSTICE b: 27 JUL 1729 in Plymouth, Mass
Named, and a legatee, in her father's will March 11 1765 (proved 17 July 1766). "UNTO MY DAUGHTER MARY WIFE OF GEORGE GREEN FIVE SHILLINGS"
Update from Private User, 7 May 2022
It appears that Jarvis’s father George didn’t marry Mary Justice until he moved to Halifax Co, Va around 1755. That means that Mary Justice Green was not his mother. It appears that Mary Justice Green died around the same time as her father John. That seems to be born out by the fact that when George Gerves Green sold his land on Mirey Creek in 1771, the deed did not have a note in it that Mary Green was waving her dower rights. That was always required in order to insure that the deed was clear and a widow could not come back later claiming that she owned the land.
