About Mary Gye
Mary Prowse married as a child. She brought, by a marriage settlement, to her husband John Gye, lands called "Upcott" in Cherlton Fitzpaine, near Poughill, lands which had once belonged to her great-uncle, Nicholas Radford, the noted judge who was murdered in 1455, at Devonshire.
