Mary was convicted of stealing and sentenced to 7 years transportation. She arrived in Sydney Cove on 26/1/1788 on "Lady Penrhyn".
Mary married William HAMBLY on 5/11/1791 at Norfolk Island and they had the following children
- William baptised 15/1/1790 Sydney
William, Mary and son William were sent to Norfolk Island on March 1790
On Norfolk Island Mary and William had the following children
- Elizabeth January 1794
- Mary - died young
- unknown 1796
Mary died June 18, 1796 Norfolk Island
NOTE: Contradiction - Mary's name appears on a website as being on "Porpoise" from Norfolk Island to Van Diemens Land in 1808 - her name is in brackets which says they married in Van Diemens Land. There is also a hand-hewn stone on Tasmania with M.H. and a cross cut into it which is thought to be her gravestone. There is also a gravestone on Norfolk Island for Mary
