Mary traveled alone. Her parents (Joseph Orgill, Jr. and Elizabeth Lowe Orgil) and siblings remaining in England. She arrived in New York on 1 June 1862 via the ship John J. Boyd. First documentation to place her in Utah is her marriage in April of 1863, which is prior to that year's emigration season. Further research is needed to identify the name of the company she traveled with. Family Data Collection, which is an ancestry database, documents her marriage to Charles Cook Housley. Death certificate shows her married name of Housley.
