On 12/12/1861 she married William Pitt and was with him as Mary Pitt in the 1870 Census in Ward 17, SLC.

The family story is that she divorced her husband, Benjamin because he wanted to take a second wife and she would not be a part of that. It was winter time and she walked and carried her baby, Etta some 20 miles all the way back to her parents home and then divorced him.
