vii Lucy, b. 8 Nov., 1789; m. in Exeter, N. H., 7 Dec., 1807, Daniel Weed, of Marblehead, b. in Winstead. Ct., 10 Sept., 1784; d. at N. Andover, 30 Oct., 1870; she d. 17 July, 1842. He was a tin plate worker. They had:

i Albert, (Weed) b. 26 Mar., 1809; d. 11 Oct., 1810.

ii Daniel, b. 29 Mar., 1811; m. 25 Sept., 1840. Lucretia S. Wade, of Ips. She d. 28 Sept., 1850; he d. in Wash., D. C., 5 Sept., 1884. Daniel Weed was a graduate of Union Coll., N. Y.; afterwards studied law; served as Ass't District Att'y of Essex Co., for . several years and as Co. Treas'r one year. He was one of the original members of the Free Soil party, running as State Senator on the same ticket with the poet, John G. Whittier. During the latter part of his life he was employed in the Treasury Dept. at Wash. They had: 1 Joseph Dana, b. 12 Jan., 1843; m. Harriet Ireson, of Marblehead; he served as Master's Mate in the Navy of the U. S. in the Rebellion and d. 7 Apr., 1874, from injuries received at that time. They had: (1) Wallace Dana,* b. 16 Nov., 1872.

iii William Wallace, b. 10 July, 1813; d. unm, 19 Oct., 1835.

iv Lucy, b. 27 Jan., 1815; m, 1 Jan., 1835, John Sullivan Foster, of Beaufort, S. C. He d. at Salem, 7 May, 1881. They had: 1 Sarah Micklefield (Foster) b. 31 Jan., 1837; d. 1 Mar., 1875. 2 Lucy Weed. b. 12 Feb., 1840; d. 10 Oct., 1850. 3 Margaretta Hilliard. b. 3 Apr., 1842; m. Geo. Osgood Stevens, of Salem; one of the first vets, from his city in the 6th Mass. Reg. which was the first to enter the national capitol after Pres. Lincoln's call for troops. He was at the siege of Port Hudson, La. No children. 4 Samuel Worcester, b. 20 Feb., 1846; d. 15 Aug., 1876. 5 Ellen Rust, b. 28 Aug., 1849; d. Apr., 1862.

They had: 1 William Wallace* b. 29 Sept., 1839; d. 29 July, 1879. He served in the U. S. Navy throughout the civil war, not visiting his home and family during the time. 2 Sarah Elizabeth, b. 11 Jan., 1845; m. John Horner, of Marblehead; d. 25 Dec, 1876. They had: (1) William, (Horner.) (2) Clarence. 3 Lewis, (Weed) b. 21 Apr., 1847; d. 2 Aug., 1851. 4 Charles II, b, 24 June, 1849; d. 16 Apr., 1883. 5 Mary Ellen, b. 5 Oct., 1857; m. John Brown, of Marblehead; no children. 6 Celesta Harriet, b. 2 Aug., 1860; unm. 1888.
