Obituary for Mrs. Mary Lou Lee Best

Statesboro, GA Mrs. Mary Lou Lee Best, age 98, died on Saturday September 10, 2016 at Browns Health and Rehabilitation under the care of Southern Hospice. The native and lifelong resident of Bulloch County was retired from Belk Department Store as a sales clerk after 20 years of service. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years Rufus Benjamin Best; her parents Nesbit Augustine and Sarah Elizabeth Lee; four sisters Lottie Bell Stills, Sarah Deal, Lillie Johnson and Parnell Lee; a brother Jacob Lee.  Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law Rev.Benjamin Earl and Marilyn Best of Savannah, GA; two sisters Myrtle Kicklighter of Savannah, Ruby Reddick of Atlanta and a brother Willie Lee of Statesboro; a grandson and his wife Richard Earl and Julie Best of Savannah; a granddaughter Wendolyn Best of Aiken SC; five great grandchildren Ben (Julie) Johnson, Brittany Salem, Noah Best, Ally Best and Emma Best; a great great granddaughter Charlie Kay Johnson and a beloved friend and niece Dorothy Waters; several nieces and nephews also survive.  A visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Joiner-Anderson Funeral.  The funeral service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.  Interment will be in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be nephews.  The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Friendship Baptist Church 4025 Friendship Church Rd. Statesboro, GA 30458.
