About Mary Latham
Mary's maiden name was Brady, and she was born at Little Hartley, Blue Mountains, 86 years ago. On her marriage to the late Richard Latham, in 1874, she went to Queensland, settling with her husband on Latham Station, western line, and where she resided until recent years. Of four children there are left to mourn their loss one daughter, Mary, who lived with and nursed her mother until the end, and one son, Philip, who lives on 'Latham' Station, Western Line. The other two predeceased their parents, they being Sister M. Aloysia, of the Good Samaritan Order, who died in Sydney in 1920, and Richard, who passed away at Charters Towers in the same year. Mother M. Matthew, of the Mercy Order in the convent at Parkes, who recently celebrated her golden jubilee, is a sister of the deceased. (Extract from obituary in 'The Catholic Press' Thur 211933 p5)
