was last written to by Carrie Lee, daughter of Thomas J. Lee, some time

Note: Two Elizabeth Andersons are listed, each with a different birthdate,

and one listed as dying in 1855. Elizabeth J. Anderson was living with her

father Jubel Anderson in Jackson Co., in the 1850 census, when the 1st

Elizabeth was married to T.J. Lee. Note also that T.J. and the first

Elizabeth named their youngest son "Anderson".

Faye DeRossett Russell wrote in April 1998:

"My g g gfather, Elijah DeRossett, was born in VA ca 1788. We think his father was Lewis DeRossett, born ca 1745/1755, prob in VA, and from 1782 to 1793 he apparently lived in Charlotte County VA. They came into TN in mid-1790's. found in Jefferson County until about 1800, then found in Cocke County, and left there about 1802 "to go to Jackson County, Tennessee". Since the early Jackson records were burned, I have not found them in Jackson County, but Elijah shows up on 1811 White County Tax List. They possibly landed in the part of Jackson that became White in 1806/7."

Information from Dr. Richard Henry Lee (1911-1997): "The DeRosset (French Huegonats) came from France to the Dominican Rupublic and were later forced to leave by "Black Napolean". The settled in Capr Fear, North carolina then into Georgia and Virginia."

The first DeRosset, Armand John, was a descendant of French Huguenots and immigrated to the Colonies in the 1730's and settled in Wilmington, NC. We haven't found documentation to connect Rebecca's family with this branch but it is believe that all the DeRosset's in the US descended from Armand John.
