Biography

Mary Poore, daughter of Joseph Poore and Mary (Wallingford) Poore, was born in Newbury, Massachusetts on April 12, 1692.[1][2]

Mary married Jonathan Mooers in Newbury on January 7, 1714/5.[3][2]

Mary and Jonathan had the following children, all in Newbury:

Joseph, b. February 3, 1715[4][2]
Jonathan, b. April 4, 1718, bp. April 6, 1718[4][2]
Edmund, b. April 24, 1723, bp. April 28, 1723[4][2]
Benjamin, b. January 20, 1724[4][2]
John, b. October 15, 1726, bp. October 23, 1726[4][2]
Samuel, b. November 5, 1728, bp. November 10, 1728[4][2]
Ammiruhamah, b. November 17, 1730, bp. December 6, 1730[4][2]
David, b. January 6, 1734[4]
Some family trees also show a Thomas Moores and a Robert Mooers as children of Mary and Jonathan. However, there is no record of them in the Newbury Vital Records and no reliable source linking them to Mary and Jonathan has been found. It is probably at least as likely that one or both were offspring of some of the Nantucket Mooers.

Mary (Poore) Mooers died in Newbury on May 15, 1748.[5]
