About Mary Parmela Bergevin
Mary Parmela Allard was born on November 5th, 1855 in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she resided until 1862 when she headed west with her family. The Allards stopped for a time in Helena, Montana presumably for her father to work as a carpenter. She married Beldam Damase Bergevin on July 3, 1881 in the St. Rose Catholic Mission church at Frenchtown. She was the mother of six children and lived in the homestead still standing in Lowden. In the 1920 census Parmelia is listed as living with her daughter Augustine Markham in Walla Walla where she died two year later at the age of 66.
