Mary Preston

Thomas Preston, who was born about 1740 and married Mary Ballard. Mary was the dau. of Richard Ballard and Elizabeth Orricks. Richard Ballard is thought to be the son of Ambrose Ballard b.ca.1698 and Betty Wollford/Woolfok. Thomas died sometime after 1797, the date of his last will and testament. Their children were:

• Stephen Preston, b.ca.1760 d.6-18-1828. He married four times, first Elizabeth Dosha Smith. He married second on 12-8-1792 Elizabeth Pullen and third Polly Smith on 7-31-1807, fouth, Sally Williamson in 1817. He had five children by Dosha Smith and five by Elizabeth Pullen. Elizabeth was the dau. of Thomas Pullen and Eliizabeth Abston.
• Joel Preston b.ca.1760 d.10-5-1828. Joel was born in Bedford Co., VA and died in Smith Co., TN. He married before 1778 Esther Howard in Bedford Co., VA.

• Isaac Preston, born March 20, 1781, and married Sarah Hurt on September 25, 1800. She was the daughter of Elisha Hurt and Mildred Stratton Hurt. Sarah was born on May 20, 1785.
