Mary Thacher was born in Yarmouth about 1700 to Deacon Josiah Thacher and Mary Hedge.

She married at Yarmouth, MA 17 Sep 1719 to Joshua Sears, son of Samuel Sears and Mercy Mayo.

Her son Isaac administered her estate on 25 Jul 1761. "Buried presumably at Norwich, CT in Pine Island Burying Ground where an unmarked mound exists between the grave of her husband and that of her son Nathaniel."
