She was the first wife of Daniel Secard. They married by 1739. His second wife was Abigail Fowler, to whom he was probably married by 1755 (and very likely earlier than that). Lack of records makes it difficult to determine when Mary died and when Daniel married Abigail. Mary's second child was born 8 February 1741/2, so she was alive on that date, and she might be a Mary Secard who was recorded in 1751 as sponsor for a baptism in New Rochelle. Moulton identified Mary (Archer) Secard as the probable mother of Daniel's daughter Mary, born about 1745, and called Abigail (Fowler) Secard the probable mother of the next child, son Moses Secord, who was born about 1753.[1]
