Mary Sibsey was the daughter of Captain John Sibsey, deputy Lieutenant of Lower Norfolk County VA.In 1646 there is a mention of Captain Sibsey's son Thomas.On January 22, 1647 John Sibsey was co-partner in the John and Barbary and America and freighter of the ships Pellman and Blessing.

The will of John Sibsey, of Elizabeth River in the county of Lower Norfolk was dated August 6th 1652.

Land called Craney Point to be sold towards payment of debts.To his wife, all his plates, servants and boat.To daughter Mary Sibsey all the residue of his land joining Craney Point.To Harry Weeks all the land now in the possession of Richard Palmer.
