I suppose you know about John Odle Sr... as to why he disappeared? If not, I can tell you what I know about it.

My Purlina Odle (11 Apr 1824 - 24 Aug 1904) was born in Overton Co TN, died in Benton Co AR. She was the daughter of John Odle & Abby [maiden name unknow], married about 1842 according to the international marriage records for Washington Co AR. I have not found a marriage record for her in Washington Co. Marriage Records in Washington Co before 1845 were destroyed when the court house burned during the civil war. She married William Jefferson Sisk (5 Jul 1822 - 1 Apr 1861). He was born in Franklin Co. TN and died in Benton Co AR. Their Children, all born in Benton Co. AR 1. Frances Jane "Frankie" Sisk (10 Nov 1843 - 28 Nov

    1930), m: 15 Nov 1860 Thomas B Wine (16 Jul -

     bef 1920). They didn't have children of their own

     but reared so children of relatives.

2. Mary Elizabeth Sisk (4 Feb 1845 - 27 Apr 1863)

     did not marry.

3. Alfred K Sisk (21 Feb 1847 - 25 Jul 1864) Killed

     by bushwhackers on way home during the Civil

     War.

4. George Washington "Gen" Sisk (10 Oct 1849 -

      2 Mar 1914). m1: 8 Apr 1877 Amanda J Reed

      (Jul or Aug 1854 - 11 Jul 1877)  Gen m2:

       14 Feb 1895 Lucinda "Sena" (Hudson)

       Peveyhouse [George & Amanda are my great-

       grandparents.

5.  infant Sisk (13 Apr 1852 - 24 May 1852) The

      baby was listed in the family Bible but no name

      was given.

6. Martha Ann Sisk (4 Jul 1853 - 22 Mar 1866) m:

     23 Mar 1868 Elias Andrew Solomon Yeager

     (20 Mar 1850 - 1 Oct 1917)

7. Daniel J Sisk (2 Mar 1857 - 1939) m: 13 May 1873

8. Joel A Sisk (28 Jul 1859 - 11 Dec 1944)

    m: 20 Mar 1887 Elizabeth Ann Dale (9 Dec 1865 -

     21 Aug 1908)

All of these children with their birthdates are listed in the family Bible. Dates of death are also listed up until Purlina passed. I have a copy of the pages from this bible. The dates of death for the others are from gravestones or from talking to descendants of the person.
