Mary Smith

Born probably in 1715, died about 24 Oct 1767, buried 25 Oct 1767, in Strong's Neck burial ground, Setauket, daughter of the Rev. Benjamin and Abigail (Taylor) Woolsey, of Southold. Benjamin Woolsey, b. 19 Nov 1687, at Jamaica, son of George Woolsey, Jr., a graduate of Yale in 1709, became pastor of the First Church in Southold in 1720. He had married, 11 Aug 1710, Abigail, daughter of John Taylor, of Glen Cove, LI., and his wife Mary, daughter of Daniel Whitehead. Abigail (Taylor) Woolsey inherited her father's estate, afterward called "Dosoris," and she and her husband lived there after her father's death in 1735. Mrs. Mary (Woolsey) Smith, widow of Platt Smith, married (2) Dr. George Muirson, of Setauket, as second wife, and had a daughter, Mary Heathcote Muirson, who married William Wickham Mills.
