The births of John's children correspond with the brothers and sisters of one Jonathan Ross whose estate was settled in Salem in 1704. On 3 Nov. 1704 the assets of Jonathan Ross were divided among his two brothers and six sisters, each receiving 02-12-10-1/2. They are listed in the following order in the settlement papers: Mary Ross Southwick, Sarah Hoar alias Ross, Abigail Ross, Daniel Ross, Susannah Ross, Hannah Ross, Joseph Ross, and Eliza Ross, Daniel Ross of Windham and Joseph Ross of Ipswich gave bond for their sisters Hannah Rust alias Ross and Susannah Eborn, alias Ross.(6)
