Mary Stutzman, was born on July 9, 1924 on a farm near Milford, Nebraska to David Sr. and Anna (Stauffer) Hershberger, the 5th of 7 children, and went to meet her Lord on November 30, 2014 in Milford at the age of 90 years 4 months and 21 days. As a young girl she enjoyed helping her dad on the family farm and riding horses. Mary graduated from Milford High School with the class of 1943. She was united in marriage to Gerald Stutzman on February 3, 1951 in Henderson, Nebraska and to this union four children, Jane, James, Kurt, and Ted were born.
They made their home in the Friend area where Mary assisted Gerald on the farm and raised their children. Mary enjoyed her family and friends, loved to laugh, enjoyed eating out and always had a special wit about her until the very end. Mary accepted Jesus Christ as her personal savior at a young age and was a lifelong member of East Fairview Mennonite Church where she attended regularly until Gerald's health began to fail. She appreciated her church family and often taught and participated in the adult women's Sunday school class. Mary always carried a deep concern for those individuals who had not claimed the gift of salvation.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Jane (Richard Burkey); sons Jim (Charlene), Kurt (Miriam), and Ted (Karen); 13 grandchildren and spouses; seven great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, David Sr. and Anna Hershberger, her husband Gerald (October 19, 2014), parents-in-law, Harve and Jessie Stutzman, brother Reaford Hershberger, sister and brother-in-law Kathryn and Elwin Friesen, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harold, Leroy, Walter, and Danny Stutzman, Milton and Betty Troyer and Grace Stutzman, Elizabeth Hershberger.* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: Mar 4 2020, 0:55:53 UTC
