Mary G Traeger

Mary G. Traeger, 86, of Springfield, formerly of the Quad Cities, died at 8:10 p.m. on Friday, April 6, 2007 at St. Joseph's Home.

Mary was born September 7, 1920 in Rock Island, IL, the daughter of Joseph and Providence Amato Bileddo. She married Eugene S. Traeger on February 14, 1942 in Rock Island; he preceded her in death in June 1984.

Mary was self-employed as a child-care provider. She lived in Moline most of her life, moving to Springfield in 2002. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Moline where she was in the Altar and Rosary Society.

Mary enjoyed dancing, meeting new people and socializing, crocheting, and playing cards. She also enjoyed listening to 40's and 50's music, especially the song "My Way" by Paul Anka.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers: Salvatore and John Bileddo.

She is survived by one daughter: Sr. Mary Jean Traeger, O.P. of Springfield; one son: Michael S. Traeger of Quincy; three grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother: Joseph (wife, Sue) Bileddo of Moline; three sisters: Caroline (husband, Joseph) DeCapp of Florida, Ann Wright of Carbon Cliff, IL and Sarah Skatikat of Lady Lake, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 at Sacred Heart Convent, 1237 W. Monroe, Springfield. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral mass will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at Sacred Heart Church, Moline, IL with Rev. Msgr. Dale Wellman, celebrant. There will be an additional visitation from 11:45 – 12:45 p.m. before the funeral mass.

Burial will follow at Rock Island National Cemetery.
