"Rhodes Wightman was a farmer, locating after marriage in West Greenwich, RI . In 1803 he removed to Stephentown, NY Rhodes remained in Stephentown, but two sons removed to Hancock, MA, and were progenitors of a numerous kindred there, spelling the family name WhitmanThe will of Rhodes Wightman is recorded in Book VII Page 402 of the Surr.
