About Mary Williams
From "The Genealogical Exchange", by Natalie R Fernald, Vols 1-7, July 1904
"CORRECTIONS OF ERRORS. SKINNER. The Kirby's of New England, p. 195, states that Judah Williams, son of Nathan and Elizabeth (Lewis) Williams of Williamstown, Mass., born December 14, 1741, in Colchester, Conn., married Mary Skinner, born January 31, 1743, died 1791, at Troy, N.Y., daughter of the Rev. Thomas Skinner of Colchester, Conn. She was not the daughter of Rev. Thomas, and I shall be very glad if someone can prove whose daughter she was. -M.E.D."
From "Connecticut Magazine: An Illustrated Monthly, Volume 6" January, 1900, edited by William Farrand Felch:
"Skinner. Capt. Judah Williams, son of Nathan 2, son of Charles1, of Colchester and Hadley, married Mary Skinner. They moved from Colchester to Williamstown, Mass., then Troy, N.Y., where his wife died; he then moved to Utica, N.Y. Whose daughter was Mary Skinner? Place of residence? Was she from Hartford? Mary Skinner, daughter of Rev. Thomas Skinner, was thought, until found she married a Wells (Conn. Marriages), and on the same page apparently the same Mary married a Taintor. -A.D.S."
