Masha Segall

Masha Segall was born on January 16 in Siaullai (Shavli) Lithuania, second daughter of Nahum Greenberg and Anya Greenberg nee Lasovsky. Her elder sister Tanya was born in 1920, and her younger sister Serafima (Sima) in 1925. Both her parents and younger sister perished in the holocaust. Masha married Yehuda Segall in the Siaulai ghetto on May 15 1942. After surviving the camps they were reunited after the war and in 1946 emigrated via Italy to Zimvabwe with the help of Tanya's husband Phil Baron, John's brother Max Segall and the Lasowsky family of Salisbury (Harare) I am their daughter Anne Evans, nee Segall, born in Bulawayo , Zimbabwe (then Southern Rhodesia) on April 20 1948, now living in London. I have a brother, Norman Segall, also born in Bulawayo, on December 30 1952. He now lives in Israel.
