Massilva Brookes is the daughter of Richard Brookes and Mary Gibson, as denoted in the last will and testament of her father, wherein he bequeaths an equal division of his estate to her, along with her mother, as well as brothers William, Robert, Richard, and her sister Sarah. She and Obediah were married about 1744.
Together, they had eleven known children: Mary Marvula, James, Thomas, William, Obediah Jr, Richard, John, Amelia, Nancy, Susannah, and Matthew.
