Matthew and Jannet McCurdy Young are found in the records of early South Carolina, as well as her father, John McCurdy. However, Matthew's brother Patrick Young died in Augusta County, VA, about 1760, his widow, Isabelle, remarried and moved west.
Matthew's parents, Matthew and Agnes Lusk Young, appear to have left Augusta Co, VA, in the early 1750s and settled in Long Canes, SC, which became Granville and/or Old 96 Districts. James Lusk is also there.

Recorded on October 14, 1784. Matthew and John McCurdy, Jr. were very close friends. Their lands were near each other and their names often coincided on records
