Mathias McGlamery

The Will of Mathias McGalmmery, dated the February 10, 1817, and proved on July 15, 1817:

       "In the Name of God, Amen. I Mathias McGlammery of the County of Monroe & State of Virginia being in perfect health of body and of perfect mind and memory; thanks be given to God - Calling to mind the mortality of my body; and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die; do make and ordain this my last will and Testament; that is to say principally and first of all I give and Recommend my soul into that hand of almighty God that gave it; and my body I recommend to the Earth to be buried in a decent Christian burial at the Discretion of my Executors nothing doubting, but at the general Resurrection, I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God - stand as touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life, I give devise and dispose in the following manner. " " First I give and Bequeath to my Eldest Daughter Bathsheba twelve shillings - I likewise bequeath twelve Shillings to my Daughter Sarah to be raised and levied out of my estate, I give and bequeath to my well beloved wife all my Land and Tenements with all the moveable Property during her Life, at which Period I bequeath all my Lands which I now Possess unto John Wray my son in law and Sarah his wife During his and her life - As for the Moveable Property at her Decease She is to dispose of it as she may see proper; I also appoint my well beloved Lydia, John Wray & Isaac Estil Executors of this my last will and Testament Confirming this to be my last and no other; In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Tenth of February Eighteen hundred and Seventeen.
