4.5 Kino Saxinger – Tylovo divadlo, adresa: Masarykova č. p. 312/2, architekt: Oswald Veth; Anonym datace: 1922; 1955–1957

After the initial dramatic situation in Šternberk calmed down, connected with the emergence of an independent one Of the Czechoslovak Republic, its gradual post-war renewal began. At this time two cinemas were established in Šternberk; one of them was established by Otto Saxinger († circa 1945). He belonged with his brother Max (1879–1962) among the pioneers of cinema and later among cinema builders in the north of Moravia. Other such in the Šumperk region were the Oeser brothers.

The Saxingers held their first cinema performance in Sternberg in 1901, then traveled with a nomadic cinema around Moravia and Silesia. It was opened in 1911 by Otto in Šternberk, the first still cinema (it is not known at what address) and Max in the cellars premises of the town hall of Šumperk.

In March 1922, construction began on the modern German Saxinger cinema on the corner today's Kollárova street and Masarykova street. He was behind the project in Sternberg environment very active builder Oswald Veth. The Czech minority was also interested in the same plot for the construction of the school, it was eventually realized on a side plot. The two-storey cinema building on a rectangular floor plan had an Art Nouveau appearance.. ..The cinema functioned non-stop until the end of the Second World War, then moved to city ownership.. Sometime between 1953 and 1955, the Sternberg committee changed decisions and the former the Saxinger cinema began to be transformed into the Tyovo Theater..

..In 2010, the city sold the property to a private owner, who submit a project of a multicultural center to the city council. However, he did he did not fulfill many promises. The building thus continues to fall into disrepair and is waiting in vain for the reconstruction of meaningful use.178 A parallel of the Sternberg cinema can be found in Šumperk, where in the years 1920–1921 Max Saxinger had a new one built by Šumperk builder Anton Schwestka a representative cinema building with a Rondo Cubist division, on the corner of today's streets
M. R. Štefánik and Slovanská. Today's appearance dates from 1928–1929, he designed it important Dresden architect Rudolf Bitzan.179..
