Maxie Potter Salyers, 93, of Pound, VA and Ashcamp, KY, entered into rest Monday, Nov. 12, 2007 at her son's home in Pound, VA.
Mrs. Potter was born June 27, 1914 to the late Spicy Damron Potter and John Morgan Potter. She was a business woman in the Pound area, being a partner in the Austin Motel and Pound, Market, a big Kentucky Wildcat fan, a lover of fishing, Canasta and watching ballgames.
Maxie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Curt Salyers; her brothers Quay Potter, Allison Potter, Alvin Potter, Clemont Potter, Earnest Potter and John Morgan Potter II; her sisters Lue Tucker, Myrtle Cannon, Mae Epling, Christine Fowler, Mary Kentucky Palmer and Gladis Potter.
Survivors include her son Larry Salyers (Brenda); 2 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; her brothers Reed Potter and Gordon Potter, both of Ashcamp; a sister Goldie Cochran of Ashcamp; several nieces and nephews; a host of friends and loved ones.
