Melvin C. Raab, Sr.

RAAB, Melvin C., Sr. Age 79 Of Delton Passed away on January 10, 2011 at home surrounded by his family. Melvin was born on June 13, 1931 in Kalamazoo the son of Clyde M. and Elizabeth M. (Woods) Raab. Melvin was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie in 2003; his daughter, Judith Rop; and three brothers, Robert, Donald, and Lloyd Raab. Melvin is survived by his companion, Elsie VanDyke of Galesburg and Delton; four children, Melvin C. (Linda) Raab, Jr. of Tupelo, MS; Donald (Darlene) Raab of Kalamazoo; Valerie Kennedy of Delton, MI and Cheryl (Jim) Plews of Kalamazoo; a son-in-law, Stan Rop of Kalamazoo; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren and 1.5 great great grandchild; a sister, Merridy Lewis of Parchment; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Thursday, January 13, 2011 from 6-8 PM at REDMOND Funeral Home 4100 S. Westnedge- 343-6156 Where Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 14, 2011 with Pastor Jim Dyke officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of S.W. Michigan.
