Melvin E. "Bud" Schloss Jr., a businessman and manufacturers' representative here for more than 30 years, died Wednesday (Jan. 27, 1993) of cancer at his home in Clayton. He was 65.
Mr. Schloss was a founder and president of the Marketing Group and Schloss & Co. The company has been Midwest representative for more than 100 makers of housewares, hardware and consumer electronics, including Sony, Toro, Rubbermaid, Mr. Coffee, Anchor Hocking and Singer.
He also founded Autco Distributing Inc., which he later sold. He began his career as a buyer and a sales manager with Graybar Electric Co. here.
Mr. Schloss was president for the past five years of the Park Tower Condominiums, which he helped reorganize and where he lived and did business. …
