Part of Baron Hirsch's colony. They voted as a colony where they wanted to go, chose Canada. They sold their religious objects to be able to afford a farm. Very very snowy and hard.....they got snowed in a lot. Michel had to break into the roof of the barn to feed the cows because the snow piled in front of the barn doors.
