June 1737, Goochland Co VA, Miles witnessed a deed between Charles Johnson and Thomas Owen. Goochland Co VA Wills and Deeds 1736-1742. p 5, 19.

April 1749, Miles received a grant of 185 acres (later in Pittsylvania Co). "185 acres land on the south side of the north fork of the Mayo River begin[ing] at a w[hite] oak on the said river thence new lines from A to B N[orth] 10 W[est] 100 p[oles] to a wh[ite] oak, B to C N58 W28 p[oles] to a w[hite] oak on the said river & thence C to A down the stream thereof as it meanders to the begin[ning]." Old Survey Book 1, 1746-1782, Pittsylvania Co VA. p47, 139, 159, 160, 306. Halifax County, NC. Sep 1753, Thomas Harbour brought a suit against Jennings. (Plea Book 1, Halifax Co VA 1752-1755. p 51).

May 1755, Miles served as a juror and, in November, he was awarded 100 pounds of tobacco for delivering a wolf's head. (Plea Book 1755, 12, 13).

June 1757, Thomas Harbour filed against Miles for a debt of £5. Miles did not appear in court.

March 1758, Miles was the plaintiff against William Pratter; by agreement the suit was dismissed. (Plea Book 1755, 135) March 1758, Harbour brought suit again, but it was dismissed. (Plea Book 1758, 21).

May 1758, Harbour won a judgement against Miles for £5 plus costs. (Plea Book 1758, 64)

Nov 1758 in Antrim Parish, Miles was appointed a processioner of land along with Thomas Harbour and John Payne. (Vestry Book of Antrim Parish, Halifax County VA 1752-1817. p 36. July 1759, Miles brought a suit against Henry France which was dismissed. (Plea Book 1758, 92).

August 1759 Miles served as a juror. (Plea Book 1758, 110, 114).

September, Elisha Walling brought a suit against Miles which was dismissed. (Plea Book 1758, 129)

Nov 1759 in Halifax Co VA, Miles was an appraiser for the estate of Samuel Stalker. Miles died sometime between September 1759 and May 1760.

August 1760 Court, the widow "Ann" Jennings was granted a certificate for obtaining letters of administration for the estate. (Plea Book 1759, 56). Peter Wilson and William Wright gave security, and Humberson Lyon, John Hanby, James Lyon, and George Carter were directed to appraise the estate.

John Hanby, a future relation to the Jennings family--He was the father of Susannah Hanby who would marry Miles' son Miles in about 1762.

An nventory and appraisal of the estate was submitted to the court in November 1760. (Plea Book 1759, 72) March 1762, William Satterwhite, Hamon Critz, John Parr, and Thomas Harbour appointed by the court to allot and determine the shares of the estate for the widow and the children. (Plea Book 1759, 191). Miles died intestate. Widow Nancy Ann was still in Halifax Co in 1765. Nancy later married Joseph Thomas and moved to Wilkes Co GA where she was living in 1792. In Henry Co VA in April 1792, "Nancy Thomas of Wilkes Co GA, the mother of Miles Jennings, does relinquish her right of dower in the transaction whereby her son did convey unto John Dillard 1112 acres of land on both sides of Mayo River." (Adams, Lela, Abstracts of Henry Co VA Deed Books III and IV, August 1784-June 1792.)

Note: A Thomas Harbour is mentioned in several of the above-listed documents. Mary Crunk Jennings-Scales had a sister named Esther Crunk who md a David Harbour...so there could be a relationship of some sort here.
