About Minnie (Susan Arminta) Hickman
Her Indian name was Tuggin, and Grandpa Hickman would call her by it to make her mad as she didn't like it. She was called Grandma Hickman and was a healer (female medicine woman). She was also stated incorrectly she was born in 1862 and was supposely over 100 years old she died. She didn't eat meat but would boil a chicken to make brooth for chicken and dumplings, but would throw away the meat. She had dark black hair and high checkbones and was at least one quarter indian, and had a hot temper. She was born Susan (last used 1910 Census) but changed it to Minnie (first used 1920 Census) because she didn't like the name Susan Arminda (pronounced R -mend a). She grew up in the Holiness Church(Pentecostal / Holy Rollers), but she joined the Chuch of Christ in Amagon across the street from her house a couple of years before.she died.- Danny Chris Ivy
