In Greek mythology, Minyas (Greek: Μινύας) was the founder of Orchomenus, Boetia or son of King Orchomenus. As the ancestor of the Minyans, a number of Boeotian genealogies lead back to him, according to the classicist H.J. Rose. His children include Clymene, mother of Iphiclus by Phylacus, Cyparissus, the founder of Anticyra, and three daughters known as the Minyades.[1] According to Apollonius Rhodius (1.229) and Pausanias (9.36.3) he was the first king ever to have made a treasury.
