About Molly Klotzer
Information about Molly from various sources:'
Molly owned a very successful, stationary, card and gift shop.
Klotzer's Gift Shop Incorporated 398 Central Ave Jersey City, NJ 07307
Per Ed Wirkman: " Molly had daughters named Bessie and Lillian and a son named Jack (or Jacob). There was a third daughter I didn't know because she ran away from home before I came on the scene and no one spoke about her. Lillian and Bessie worked in the gift shop with their mother. Lillian married Morton (Sonny) Richter and had two children.....a boy Dennis and a girl Karen. Jack owned a men's haberdashery in Newark, NJ until the riots in 1968 when he was burned out.. Jack had a son known as "Moe" Klotzer. Bessie never married. " - Recollections of Ed Wirkman to Lori Stone
Per Eli Neuman: Aunt Molly Klotzer sponsored me to come to the USA. I was always grateful to her for this.
Per Ronald Klotzer email to Lori Stone: Jack’s Men's Store wasn’t burned out in the riots. It survived. He sold (gave) it too his employee. Can’t remember his name right now but it’ll come to me. I just remember he had a good tooth, lol. If you have access to the July 18, 1968 issue, in the coverage of the Newark riots, Life Magazine has a picture of a dead Black guy laying in his big front window. You can almost see across the top that it says, “Jack’s Men's Store. I’m Jack’s grandson. Jack's son, Irwin’s son, Ron. I’m 63 now.”
