"Montolieu Fox Oliphant Murray, 1st Viscount Elibank DL, JP (27 April 1840 – 20 February 1927) was a Scottish nobleman.

The eldest son of Alexander Oliphant-Murray, 9th Lord Elibank and Emily Montgomery, he was educated privately and entered the Royal Navy in 1854. In 1860 he served in the Second Opium War aboard HMS Cambrian (medal and Taku clasp). He later served in the corvette HMS Wolverine during the Jamaica Rebellion of 1865. He retired in 1870 with the rank of Commander.

In 1868 he married Blanche Scott, and the couple had two sons and five daughters (and two sons deceased). His daughter Hon. Evelyn Izme Murray married J. E. B. Seely, 1st Baron Mottistone.

He succeeded his father as 10th Lord Elibank in 1871. He was Lord Lieutenant of Peeblesshire from 1896-1908. In 1911 he was created 1st Viscount Elibank.

His eldest son, Alexander was created Baron Murray of Elibank in 1912, but predeceased his father. The Viscountcy and other titles passed to his younger son."

• Alexander William Charles Oliphant Murray, Master of Elibank, born 12th April 1870. Married, 1st August 1894, Hilda, daughter of James Wolfe Murray of Cringletie, Peeblesshire (No. 353).
• Edward Oliphant Murray, born 22nd October 1871 ; killed, South Africa, 20th September 1901. He married, 9th January 1900, Mary, daughter of Henry Christian Alhusen of Stoke Court, Bucks, and had a daughter.
• Charles Gideon Murray, born 7th August 1877.
• Arthur Cecil Murray, born 20th March 1879.
• James Oliphant Murray, born 21st August 1882; died 30th January 1885."
